I don't know how to read music, is that a problem?
Not at all! No previous experience is necessary, learning how to read music and theory will be covered during your lessons.
Do you do online lessons?
Yes, these are an excellent option to learn in the comfort of your own home. All you will need is a piano/keyboard and a smart phone/tablet/laptop.
How much would I need to practice?
This is entirely up to you. For the best possible results you should aim for at least 20 minutes a day.
Do you offer preparation for ABRSM grades?
Yes, I am registered with ABRSM to enter pupils of all ages for music grades/exams.
I don't know if it will be for me, do you offer trial lessons?
Yes, I always offer any prospective pupil an initial trial lesson at no cost. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know me and see how the lessons will work.
Am I too old to start learning the piano?
Absolutely not! Age is not a limit to learning, especially as music and creativity can benefit everybody of all ages.
What can I expect to accomplish in lessons?
This is based on your current ability and reasons for learning the piano. You can expect to cover how to read music, understand timings and rhythms, music theory and explore the piano through playing engaging pieces. Ultimately it's all about you and that's why each lesson is tailored to the individual.
My child is four years old, is that too young for lessons?
It depends on your child's concentration levels. I would recommend waiting until they are 5 or 6 to get the best out of the lessons.
How long does it take to go through grades?
If you want to take exams, there are 8 grades in total. Quick progression through the grades relies on lots of practice in between each lesson.
How do you handle billing?
A termly invoice will be sent out before your lessons commence, this can be paid via online bank transfer.

The cost is dependant on whether you would like one or two lessons a week and how long you would like them to be (30, 45 or 60 minutes). This can be discussed and arranged during your trial lesson or via e-mail.
