My name's Helen Hicks and I'd like to introduce myself as an experienced and enthusiastic piano teacher who has been playing since the age of five. I had lessons from a variety of wonderfully inspirational people who helped form my own teaching style which has become geared towards mindfulness.

 

My own ethos is that piano should not just be about gaining a skill, but should be life enhancing whilst having fun and being creative. I have now been teaching piano for many years to students aged from 5 to 82, and I love seeing the beneficial impact music has on each individual.

 

I am happy to teach both those who wish to pass grades and those playing purely for enjoyment. My experience in both educational and private settings has proved invaluable, and helped me create a teaching style that is engaging, informative and most importantly, fun.
